About this site

What Pattern Hit Rate stores about a reader, and what it does not

Pattern Hit Rate is an independent editorial desk. It is not a broker, not an exchange, not a licensed adviser, and it holds no client money. Its subject is one measurement, taken from named public sources and republished with the date it was read.

What exactly the site measures and how the measurement is taken

The site measures one thing: how often a written chart pattern rule found the occurrence it describes in stored price history, and how many of those occurrences were hits under the site's definition. Every row counts occurrences the written rule found on the stored history and how many of them were hits under the site's definition. It is a measurement of the past, not a probability for the next occurrence.

Under every table, the sources are named with a link, so a reader can check the figure at its publisher. The figures are republished with the date they were read. The date is printed because a price history grows as new data arrives, and the same rule run on a longer history may count a different number. The desk reads the named source once and records what it showed on that date.

Who publishes this site and how its one measurement is taken

Responsibility sits with the publication's editorial desk: Pattern Hit Rate research desk. The desk is the publisher of this site. It is not a person, not a group of named individuals, and not a licensed financial firm. It is a desk that reads named public sources, counts occurrences according to the written rule, and republishes the count with the date it was read.

When a figure is wrong, the desk corrects it and dates the correction. The desk answers corrections and questions sent to the address on the contact page. It does not answer questions about what a reader should do with the figures, because the figures describe what things cost, not what a reader should do.

What the site collects and what it does not

The site collects nothing of its own. It has no accounts, no login, no newsletter and no comment form. It sets no cookie of its own, runs no analytics and stores nothing in the reader's browser. The pages are served by a hosting provider which, like any web host, keeps its own technical request logs; the site's publisher does not read a reader's personal data out of them.

A reader who follows the outbound link to the broker leaves this site. The broker's own site is operated by someone else, under its own terms and its own privacy policy. Following the link changes the operator, and the broker's privacy policy governs what happens on the broker's pages, not this one.

How the site is funded and the outbound link

The site links to one broker, FxPro, through an affiliate link, and is paid a commission if a reader opens an account there. The reader pays nothing to this site and nothing extra at the broker. This is the site's only funding. It does not sell subscriptions, accept donations or run advertising.

Nothing on the site is investment advice, a recommendation or an offer. The figures describe what things cost, not what a reader should do. Writing to the address on the contact page reaches the desk. Corrections are the reason the address exists: a figure that is wrong is corrected and the correction is dated.
